Giles Infant School in Stevenage have a number of lovely playhouses in a quiet corner of the grounds, that they want to open up for re-use.
In order to achieve this, the area firstly needed to be accessed, with new surfacing to provide all-weather access.
Two of the features in the space, the bridge and the water wheel, were unsafe, and needed renewing, which we carried out alongside the re-surfacing project.
We excavated the ground and laid a stone base throughout, before installing new bonded rubber mulch surfacing to the entire space, emulating the stream and bridge design that the school had there previously.
The space looks lovely and refreshed after the works are complete!
