Setter Play were commissioned by our local pre-school to completely redesign their outdoor spaces, with an aim to refresh their adventure-play and imagination-play provisions and also improve all-weather access throughout the space.
We removed the large mound in the centre of the space, and laid artificial grass throughout, with an ‘stream’ and ‘island’ in the design to spark the imagination.
A set of imagination-play shop and play-house panels spark interpersonal and social skill development, as well as deepening an understanding of the world whilst playing. Beside this we have installed a compact outdoor classroom, to create an inviting space to take lessons and breaktimes outdoors all year round.
We removed Pirton Pre School’s previous Setter Play climber (the Ant Hill), before replacing it with one of our exciting new designs, ‘Itsy Bitsy Bear’. This climber combines a free-form section with a prominent playhouse tower, to maximise play value.
The space is finished with a storytime corner, with a commanding throne for teachers to lead a story time session, and rubber mushroom seats for children to sit and listen or socialise together.
